![]() The deaths of Albus and Brande absolutely crushed me and I am still in denial. But after all the characters went through, I was happy that they got the end to not go through any more shit. There were some loose ends that I think could have been brought together nicely. I would have liked to see the baby dragon at the end or Ava's falcon. The fact that they all made it out of the final battle unscathed seemed to not match the rest of the book which was filled with so much loss. SPOILERS- the only thing I did not love was the end, it felt a little too utopic. The magic system was interesting and unique, and the love story was SO well written. The story is plot driven and manages to not feel shallow in any parts. I don't know how Reed managed to fit so much in a 400 pg book but well done! Sometimes short books feel like they are sacrificing world building for emotional development or vice versa, but that is not an issue in this book. There were times where I wanted to stop reading because they were finally happy and I didn't want anything bad to happen to these precious magic lesbians. ![]() The depth portrayed through both Kienna and Ava's emotions is palpable. ![]() This is one of those stories where you fall in love with the characters. Ugh this book-this book- I cannot explain how much I love this book. ![]()
